Shirt template printable: layouts for tees, totes and sweatshirts

A shirt design fails in one of two places: it sits too high on the chest, or it runs wider than the press can print. A template that marks the print area saves both. The usual adult front print is around eleven inches across, and a layout built to that width transfers to a mockup without being squeezed.

These are editable files, so the wording, the fonts and the colours change to suit your shop. If you sell the design rather than the shirt, give the buyer the artwork on a transparent background at full print size. A flattened white rectangle behind the text is the most common reason a print comes back looking wrong.

Before you download

  1. Design to the print width first, then decide how big the text can be.
  2. Keep the artwork on a transparent background so it works on a dark garment as well as a light one.
  3. Check the design still reads at arm's length; a shirt is seen from further away than a screen.
